Securing the care pathway and rapid rehabilitation procedures after surgery require optimizing care by involving all stakeholders in the care pathway and patients. This training emphasizes preoperative preparation, anesthetic management, and assessment of the return home to prevent postoperative complications and promote quality of care.

🔷 Description

Pre-requisites:

  • Be a healthcare system professional

Duration:

  • 1 hour independently
  • 1 hour in a group (videoconference debriefing)

HAS certification criteria:

  • Criterion 2.3-04: Professionals are proficient in the anesthetic management of patients.
  • Criterion 3.2-04: The hospital trains its professionals in risk management using healthcare simulation tools.

PART 1: autonomous, asynchronous

  • ‍Introduction totraining

  • Video simulation
    • Immersive video-simulation of the overall management of a 71-year-old patient, from the anesthesia consultation to the evaluation of the return home after a total hip replacement.
  • Summary of key points to remember
    • Understand the issues surrounding the surgical checklist.
    • Preventing post-operative cognitive dysfunction in the elderly.
    • Use teach-back to ensure that patient information is clearly understood.
  • ‍Post-test (measuring progress and validating skills) & Action plan

PART 2: collective, videoconference debriefing

  • Video-simulation debriefing with a risk management expert
    • Identify discrepancies between professional practice and best practices to challenge current practices.
    • Identify individual and team areas for improvement.
    • Establish an individual and collective action plan to strengthen teamwork.
