This training course reviews certain complications in the management of septic shock.

🔷 Description

Pre-requisites:

  • Be a healthcare system professional

Duration:

  • 45 min in stand-alone mode
  • 1 hour in a group (videoconference debriefing)

HAS certification criteria:

  • Criterion 2.3-12: Critical care sector teams manage risks associated with their practices.
  • Criterion 3.2-04: The hospital trains its professionals in risk management using healthcare simulation tools.

PART 1: autonomous, asynchronous

  • ‍Introduction totraining
  • Pre-test (positioning test)
  • Module 1: identify the decompensation of the shock state
    • Identify the signs and symptoms indicative of deterioration towards multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS).
    • Alert early in the event of signs and symptoms indicating deterioration towards a MEWS (progressive clinical case).
  • Module 2: organize and plan patient care
    • Organize the tasks required to manage septic shock.
    • Identify and prevent task interruptions.
    • Explain the posture of an effective reinforcement.
    • Explain the posture of an effective leader.
  • Module 3: organize the administration of therapeutics
    • Explain the mechanism of drug incompatibility.
    • Identify and describe the prevention methods to be implemented to avoid medication interruptions.
  • ‍Post-test (measuring progress and validating skills) & Action plan
  • ‍Training assessment

PART 2: collective, videoconference debriefing

  • Video-simulation debriefing with a teamwork expert
    • Identify discrepancies between professional practice and best practices to improve the management of septic shock as a team.
    • Identify individual and team areas for improvement.
    • Establish an individual and collective action plan to strengthen teamwork.
