Emergency management in medicine and surgery requires quality teamwork. This training, therefore, proposes to review the organization and communication in crisis situations, through a concrete situation.

Pre-requisites:
- Be a healthcare system professional
Duration:
- 1 hour independently
- 1 hour in a group (videoconference debriefing)
HAS certification criteria:
- Criterion 2.2-12: Teams are proficient in managing life-threatening emergencies.
- Criterion 3.2-04: The hospital trains its professionals in risk management using healthcare simulation tools.

PART 1: autonomous, asynchronous
- Introduction totraining
- Pre-test (positioning test)
- Video simulation
- Immersive video-simulation depicting the life of a multi-professional team (2 nurses, 1 orderly, 1 doctor) on a medical/surgical ward, managing a life-threatening emergency following a medication error. The immersion begins with the arrival of the paramedical team in the patient's room, as she presents a generalized malaise, with desaturation. The paramedics must then organize themselves to manage the emergency. The doctor is quickly called in by one of the two nurses. The immersion stops when the patient is transferred to intensive care.
- Filmed interview: synthesis and analysis of the situation.
- Summary of key points to remember
- Identify best practices for organization and communication in crisis situations (the principle of Crew Resource Management, developed by NASA and transposed to anesthesia).
- Scenario: what is the leader's role?
- Post-test (measuring progress and validating skills) & Action plan
- Training assessment
PART 2: collective, videoconference debriefing
- Video-simulation debriefing with a teamwork expert
- Identify discrepancies between professional practice and best practices to improve organization and communication in crisis situations.
- Identify individual and team areas for improvement.
- Establish an individual and collective action plan to strengthen teamwork.
